| Description: I hired Stewart Stone and Garden to build a deck for me. Because they did not take the time to sit down and fully explain what the quote entailed, we ended up with a design that we aren’t totally happy with (bad style railing) and we had to ask for a skirting/enclosure put around the bottom of the deck during the build. This of course raised the quote by another $900. I do realize that I have to take some responsibility for not asking enough questions. But this is just one of many ways in which this contractor displayed a horrible lack of professionalism and customer service. Now that they have finished, I have a small list of 2 deficiencies, not including the invoice and receipt of payment they still owe me and I can’t get them to attend the site or even place a phone call to sort out my concerns. It has now been almost a month and half since they have been off site and I am still waiting on a proper communication back to agree on a next steps. If you are considering using this company, to be polite I would suggest not agreeing to their break down of payment and to insist on withholding at least 10% of the total bill in order to get them to address any issues in the end. When they had a website, under the About Us page it read "Owner-operated and fully insured, we take pride in providing exceptional hands-on customer service. And... all our work is fully guaranteed." I have not seen anything that resembles those words. Approach with caution! |

| Description: The guys are crooks. If you are not deterred, do not give them any money up front and make sure you hold back a meaningful amount. Take everything they say with a pound of salt - make sure all the detail is written down on paper. The got me good, don't let them do the same to you. The head guy Al is friendly at the beginning but clearly does not care about the problems he will cause you. Since then, I have noticed some similar compalints about them - had I read these beforehand, I would have avoided them entirely and been better for it. I ended up finding another company that ultimately restored my faith on landscapers. |
